Who or where you get your downloads from is of critical importance when you take these considerations into account. In case you hadn't heard, some of the people you should be concerned about are very clever. Bad people can't come over to your house and type code into your computer very easily so they'll find a way to get it on there by slipping it in along with other stuff.Įven the best software protection in the world can only protect you from threats that are already known about. Everything you download from anywhere has some inherent risks associated with it. In my mind, it comes down to risk exposure. For games I've played to death, having new mods can be a great way to breathe some new life into them.

I'm not a huge modding fan but I have tried a few that were made available through Steam. This is a good question and I'll throw in my two-cents just for balance.
